Terms of Service

Effective as of September 1, 2025

1. Who We Are

Greek Youth / Jeunesse Grecque (“Greek Youth”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a federally incorporated non-profit organization headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Our platform connects and empowers Greek youth across Canada through social, cultural, and professional collaboration.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using greekyouth.org (the “Site”) or submitting content/forms, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

3. Eligibility

The platform is open to Greek youth (ages 12–34), families, and community organizations. Members under 18 must have parental or guardian consent to register or submit content.

4. Accounts & Registration

Some features may require an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current information and keep it updated.

  • Keep your credentials confidential and not share them.

  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

    We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our community standards.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Break any law or infringe rights (privacy, IP, publicity).

  • Post or link to content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or discriminatory.

  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations.

  • Attempt to scrape, harvest, or mine data; introduce viruses or malicious code; or interfere with the Site’s operation.

  • Use the Site for unsolicited promotions or spam.

    We may take reasonable steps (including removal or suspension) to protect users and the platform.

6. Content Submissions & Approvals

You may submit events, announcements, posters, photos, job postings, or other materials (“User Content”). All public-facing submissions are subject to admin review and may be edited, rejected, or removed at our discretion to maintain accuracy, safety, and mission alignment. By submitting, you confirm you have all necessary rights and consents.

6.1 License You Grant to Greek Youth

For the limited purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the platform and community initiatives, you grant Greek Youth a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute your approved User Content on the Site, our emails, and official social channels. You can request removal at any time; we will act reasonably and promptly, though cached or archived copies may persist for a time.

6.2 Accuracy of Listings

We share events and opportunities in good faith but do not control third-party schedules, venue changes, or external websites. Always verify details with the organizer. If you prefer we do not list your event or wish to correct/remove content, contact info@greekyouth.organd we’ll act promptly.

7. Intellectual Property; Notice of Infringement

Site content (excluding User Content) is owned by Greek Youth or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. Do not copy, republish, or exploit Site materials except as permitted by law or with our written permission.

If you believe material on the Site infringes your rights, email info@greekyouth.orgwith:

  • Your contact info and a description of the work;

  • The URL/location of the allegedly infringing material;

  • A statement of good-faith belief and that your notice is accurate;

  • Your signature (electronic is fine).

    We will review and respond reasonably.

8. Third-Party Links & Services

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We don’t control or endorse them and aren’t responsible for their content or policies. Review their terms and privacy practices.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy (effective September 1, 2025). It explains what we collect, why, and your rights (including under Quebec’s Law 25). The Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference.

10. Availability; Changes to the Site

We aim to keep the Site reliable but may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We are not liable for outages, delays, or feature changes.

11. Disclaimer; No Warranties

The Site and all content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We make no promises about uninterrupted or error-free operation or about content accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Greek Youth will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, or goodwill arising from your use of the Site or third-party interactions. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to CAD $100 in the aggregate.

13. Indemnity (Community-Scale)

You agree to use the Site lawfully. If your intentional unlawful conduct (e.g., knowing IP infringement, fraud, or malicious code injection) causes us direct loss, you agree to reasonably compensate Greek Youth for those direct losses, to the extent permitted by law.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Site at any time and may request account closure at info@greekyouth.org. We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users or enforce these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing Law & Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Montreal, Quebec.

17. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision is invalid, the remainder remains effective. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Greek Youth regarding the Site.
